Is there a way to put a bookmark in a adobe reader PDF file?

I read ebooks a lot and would like to know if there is a way to mark your place so you don’t have to search for it later.

Good question considering that an eBook is usually protected so that changes can’t be made to it.

With the full version of Acrobat you can “bookmark” an unsecured or security-limited PDF file but with an ebook, I’m not sure.
